Yes, estate and other planned gifts count toward the campaign goal. You can make a planned gift by including the U in your will or trust, naming the U as a beneficiary of your retirement account or life insurance policy, or making a gift that provides income, like a charitable gift annuity. If you've made a planned gift and have not yet informed us, please let us know so we can acknowledge your generosity and ensure that your gift is included in the campaign. The University’s crowdfunding website makes it easy to create customized fundraising pages for U of M causes. You can use it to raise funds as part of a U event or fundraise for a University cause to mark an occasion, such as a birthday or anniversary. Want to raise funds with others as a team? You can do that, too.
The University of Minnesota seeks gifts from individuals, corporations, foundations, and others on an ongoing basis. After the campaign goal has been met, the University will assess its priorities and determine future fundraising goals that best support those priorities.
