Chief Regional Development Officer


Mimi brings more than 30 years of higher education experience to her work at the University of Minnesota. She spent the first part of her career in college admissions, last serving as Director of Admissions at Scripps College in Claremont, Calif. In 1999, she joined the U of M Foundation and served as a regional development officer for ten years, with geographic assignments for Washington, D.C., Southern California, and Florida. Following her regional engagement, Mimi served as Assistant Vice President for Development at the U of M Foundation, providing strategic consultation and leadership to development operations at the U’s schools and colleges. In 2015, Mimi rejoined the regional team as Chief Regional Development Officer for the Northeast.

A native of Hong Kong, Mimi earned her bachelor’s degree in piano performance at Santa Clara University and her master’s degree in higher education administration from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education. In addition to a passion for connecting donors’ philanthropic interests with the U’s strengths and priorities, Mimi is an accomplished classical pianist and performs at various Twin Cities concert series as her work schedule allows.
