Charitable gift annuity rates increase

Many donors have found a charitable gift annuity to be a great way to support the University of Minnesota or M Health Fairview cause of their choice. With this type of gift, donors can receive fixed annual payments for life and an immediate income tax deduction.

The charitable gift annuity rates suggested by the American Council on Gift Annuities have increased. The University of Minnesota Foundation will offer these higher rates for new gift annuities created on or after July 1, 2022.

HOW CHARITABLE GIFT ANNUITIES WORK

Learning and leading

“I am able to model the importance of pursuing higher education to my son. He can see my commitment as I work on my coursework, and earning a scholarship shows my son that working hard in school pays off.”

—Kyle Corey, senior studying accounting and management information systems at the U of M’s Carlson School of Management. He previously worked in middle management. Corey received the Arthur and Judy Anderson Scholarship, which is funded with current and future gifts.
